Motor Insurer’s Bureau – Team 5 – Winners of the Geoffrey Leaver Corporate Relay Challenge 2012
The Geoffrey Leaver Corporate Challenge runs alongside the Milton Keynes Marathon event, pitting teams of four runners against each other, each competitor running a leg of approximately 6.5 miles.
Promote a healthy workforce, build team spirit and camaraderie with colleagues and other businesses.
This year corporate teams will benefit from their own hospitality area overlooking the finish at stadiummk.
Dan Wylie from winning team Motor Insurers’ Bureau was over the moon about his team’s success in 2012. “Despite some seriously hostile weather conditions we really enjoyed running in the corporate relay last April. In total we had 4 teams made up of different abilities. We’re very proud to be the first and reigning champions and we’re already working out how we can hold on to our title next year”.
The relay event is characterised by a strong element of friendly competition as businesses compete to be seen as the fittest, the fastest or the best charity fundraisers. These titles represent not only an enviable PR title, but also bragging rights that last for a full year. Each company is allowed to enter as many teams as they like in order to increase their chances.

In addition to the regular training that you will need to do to complete your leg of the relay event, we’re asking all our corporate relay teams to pledge to raise at least £500 for charity.
- 50% is to be raised for MK Dons SET and
- 50% for a charity of your choice.
We recommend that you set up a Virgin Money Giving site which will automically split donations between the two charities.
