Get ready to pull on your tights, tie your cape and be a superhero for the day at the Milton Keynes Marathon Superhero Fun Run on 5th May 2014.

The event forms part of the highly successful Milton Keynes Marathon and is a fantastic event for runners, or walkers!

Superhero Fun Run Director, Andy Hully, said, “This is a fantastic event, and last year’s superheroes have said what a great atmosphere and fun day the event was. We really encourage all the participants, whether they’re a runner or a walker, to embrace the theme and wear their favourite superhero costume.”

Following the success of the inaugural Superhero Fun Run in 2013, Acorn Childcare is once again pleased to be sponsoring the race that encourages people to really embrace their inner superhero.

Zoe Raven, Managing Director, of Acorn Childcare said, “Acorn Childcare is delighted to be involved with the Superhero fun run again this year. As a not-for-profit childcare organisation that specialises in outdoor play and learning we are keen to be involved in community activities and especially those which encourage children and adults to get active outdoors.

“We’ll be providing runners to accompany younger children, if needed, to ensure that all children enjoy the experience safely.”

Entries for the Superhero Fun Run, which takes place on Bank Holiday Monday 5th May 2014, have already opened and cost just £10 for adults and £8 for children under the age of 16.

The run is open to runners of all ages and abilities which it makes it the perfect event for the whole family, and it’s expected to attract hundreds of people from the local area all wearing a range of fun and colourful superhero costumes.

After straightening up their capes and masks, all superheroes will set off at 10:30am on their mission to complete the 1.5 mile route on traffic free closed roads. Marshals from Acorn Childcare will line the route to ensure their safety and to encourage all the superheroes.

They’ll get to experience what being a superhero is all about as they cross the finish line inside stadiummk, cheered by thousands of admiring spectators. Superheroes will be rewarded with a drink, and they’ll be able to admire their shiny new medal!

Participants can also be a ‘super’ superhero by choosing to raise money for any charity they like. Simply download the sponsorship form from the event page.
