With predictions of the worst winter weather since 1947 predicted for early 2014 many people are turning their thoughts to spring and what better way to welcome the milder weather than by achieving a personal goal of completing a marathon race? January is the ideal time to start training for the Milton Keynes Marathon, to take place on Bank Holiday Monday 05 May 2014.

The fast course combines wide, tree-lined boulevards with scenic lakeside views all set to look splendid in their spring greenery.   The finish line awaits with all the excitement of achieving your goal in front of the crowds in the state of the art multi million pound Stadium MK, home of MK Dons FC.

Race Director Andrew Hully is confident that runners new to Milton Keynes will become instant fans of the city after completing the Milton Keynes Marathon.

“Many people are unaware of what Milton Keynes has to offer,” said Andrew. “The race is a newcomer to the marathon calendar but is fast becoming established as a favourite due to the pleasant course, the fantastic stadium finish and last but not least the overwhelming support of the spectators, marshals and race officials. We’re also really please that Skechers Performance Division are backing the event again for 2014.”

The 2013 Milton Keynes Marathon received rave reviews on many running forums and websites and there are plans underway to make the 2014 event more attractive than ever to competitors.

“In 2014 we will have over 13 miles of fast, wide roads for the runners to get well into their stride before joining the scenic cycle paths.” Said the Race Director. “Also on offer for those not wishing to complete 26.2.miles is a Half Marathon event, new for 2014 and the ever popular Superhero Fun Run and Geoffrey Leaver Corporate Team Relay. “2014 is set to be the best year yet for Milton Keynes.”
