Organisers of the Milton Keynes Marathon are proud to be helping support The Milton Keynes Sports & Education Trust (MK Dons SET).
Pictured handing over a fundraising cheque Andy Hully, Race Director of the Milton Keynes Marathon, said “We’re delighted to be able to raise awareness of a charity that supports so many adults and children in developing a healthy and active lifestyle.
“MK Dons SET is a really worthwhile cause and it can make a big difference. We’re proud to support a charity that is close to our hearts.”
MK Dons SET was the featured charity of the 2014 MK Marathon, MKM Half and the Geoffrey Leaver Corporate Relay. It’s a dynamic and progressive organisation that is committed to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in MK and beyond.
Each year over 50,000 adults and children benefit from activities such as holiday courses, match day clubs, study support, tackling obesity programmes, team coaching, mini soccer and multi sports programmes. These are delivered in partnership with a range of agencies and organisations including Milton Keynes Council, NHS: MK, Schools and Junior Football Clubs.
The popular MK Marathon will be returning in 2015 and will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 4th May 2015. As in previous years it will also include the MKM Half, Geoffrey Leaver Relay and the Superhero Fun Run so there is something for everyone who wants to improve their fitness, have fun and raise money for good causes.
Mr Hully added, “Every year the runners in the marathon, half marathon and the relay and fun run really impress us with their determination and hard work to raise money for lots of worthwhile causes. The runners’ on-going commitment to fundraising is amazing and we hope to increase it further in 2015.
“By working with charities and good causes we hope that we can encourage our runners and superheroes to continue to get behind them, and fundraise for them so they support the good work they do.”
