Nearly 6,000 people have already signed up for the everydayhero Milton Keynes Marathon and Half Marathon on Monday 2nd May.

For 2016, there are new routes for both for the everydayhero Milton Keynes Marathon and Half Marathon. The new routes now make more of Milton Keynes’ green spaces while putting participants through their paces, making the courses perfect for seasoned runners hunting down their PB or for newcomers to running looking for a scenic route for their debut race. Participants can check out the new routes at mkmarathon.com/route.

Andy Hully, Event Director, said: “We are delighted to offer runners of the everydayhero Milton Keynes Marathon and Half Marathon a flatter, faster course than last year. The course starts on wide open roads and runners get the same iconic finish inside StadiumMK that they love.”

In addition to the showpiece marathon and half marathon, the event will also feature the return of the MK Marathon Relay and the Superhero Fun Run.

All races on the Monday finish inside the Championship football stadium after a victory lap of the pitch, and finishers of the marathon and half-marathon get a great finishers’ tech T-shirt, a goody bag, and instant results. Plus, they will also get one of the most awesome medals out there!

New for 2016 is the Rocket 5 km on Sunday, 1st May, the day before the main event. It’s a fast downhill 5k event on closed roads between Centre Milton Keynes and StadiumMK. With the same great organisation, excellent crowd support and music at the finish as the Monday events, it’s an event not to be missed. The MK Rocket 5k might only happen once, and entries are filling fast.

As a bonus, runners who complete both the MK Rocket 5k on Sunday and either the marathon, half marathon, or relay on Monday will receive even more bling! They’ll be walking away with the MK Challenge Medal, which features a cow, one of Milton Keynes’ famous icons, and a ribbon highlighting their two days of running.

As the thousands of runners take to the streets, some road closures will be in place. MK residents can find out details of the road closures on the MK Marathon website at mkmarathon.com/residents-information.

Entries for all races are filling fast, but there are still places. To join in the fun, enter now before the closing date on 22nd April 2016. To register, visit mkmarathon.com/enter-events.
