Training and Advice
The Official Coach for the Milton Keynes Marathon and Half Marathon is Nick Anderson who will provide some helpful advice as you begin your training plan.
With over 25 years running experience, Nick is a graduate in Science & Management of health & fitness, a UKA level 4 endurance coach, a qualified nutritionist and sports therapy practitioner and enjoys coaching all levels of running.
Our ace coach Nick Anderson will run an evening Marathon Clinic again in February 2020. The session will be designed to help you get the direct information and support you need for your training. Listen to talks from the experts and have your training questions answered. There will be free High5 samples available. We have the expertise and knowledge to guide you through your marathon training in the preceding months.

7:10pm – The MK Marathon Weekend by the Race Director Andy Hully
7.30pm – How to train in a busy world
8:00pm – Nutrition and Hydration – fueling performance & recovery
8.30pm – Tapering and race day – how to get it right
9.00pm – Final Questions and top tips
9.30pm – Evening closes
- there will be a short comfort break during the evening.

Do you lack motivation to do those long Sunday morning training runs on your own? Well you’re not alone! Running with a group of like minded individuals who have a similar goal is a great incentive to get out of bed and get training.
We will be working with local Milton Keynes running club the Redway Runners on a schedule of Sunday training runs, aimed at anyone doing the Milton Keynes Marathon or Half Marathon. These will start in January 2019.
These Sunday runs usually get an average of 80 runners and are suitable for all abilities.
You can just turn up and introduce yourself and don’t need to book.
