The use of in-ear headphones is not permitted in the 10K, relay, half marathon and full marathon.
This is for your safety, as listening to music during a race may distract you from being able to hear instructions from race officials and other runners on the course.
We do allow the use of headphones that use bone conduction technology, which allows the wearer to listen to music while still being aware of their surroundings.
Bone conduction technology delivers sound through the listeners’ cheekbones to the inner ear, allowing you to enjoy your music and still hear everything around you.
Anyone caught wearing headphones other than bone conductor headphones are at risk of being disqualified.
